Registration for New Students
Thank you for your interest in Catholic education at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School. The community of faith here hopes to welcome you. The following information addresses some of the most commonly asked questions. Our Registration Process is outlined in our new student registration letter which provides important information including:
School

Tuition

Religion
is an important part of our program. All students pray together daily
and attend mass weekly. Relatives are always welcome to join us for
these prayer experiences and mass.
School
begins at 8:15 am currently. Children may be dropped off at 7:45 am,
or as early as 6:45 am for Before School Care.
School
dismissal is at 3:15 pm Bus students are dismissed first, followed
by walkers and riders.
Please
note: These times are subject to change. Our beginning and
ending times are determined by the schedule of bus transportation provided
by Plaquemines Parish.
Before/After school care is provided for $3.50 per hour per family, and is supervised by OLPH faculty and staff. Care is from 6:45 am to 7:45 am, and from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Payment is billed every two weeks. (If our beginning and ending times change, we will adjust this schedule. The rates are subject to change each year, with a minimal increase.) Hot breakfast and hot lunch are available as part of the federal school food program. The current price of a basic breakfast is $0.75, and lunch is $1.50 for students. Parents, grandparents, and other significant adults are welcome to join the children for either breakfast or lunch. Reservations are required. (If students prefer, they may choose to bring their own lunch.) Free bus transportation is provided for Plaquemines Parish residents for pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. For information on locations and times, please contact Plaquemines Parish Transportation Department in August at 392-5583. Uniformsare worn by all students, pre-kindergarten through 8th. Skirts, pants, shorts, and shirts are purchased at J & L Uniforms on Stumpf Blvd. in Gretna, or at the uniform recycling sale sponsored by our Parent Co-op Club. Uniform shoes are purchased at Skobelj's in Belle Chasse. Sweatshirts and jackets are purchased at OLPH. Details on the uniform policy will be provided at the time of the interview for admission. Parental involvement is important to us. There is an active Parent Club that welcomes volunteer room moms and dads, spruce-up workers, and business partners. The OLPH annual fair is eager to accept help with booths in October. In addition, parents are needed to help serve hot lunches, assist in classrooms, and serve as office and library volunteers.
